Ras Al Khaimah has a well laid out network of roads providing excellent road connectivity. RAK Government has prepared an ambitious RAK Road Network Development Strategy designed to cope with the proposed growth plans for the entire emirate. These plans include:
Extension of the Emirate’s Road
Widening of existing roads, building of flyovers and improving congested junctions.
Development of the Siji to Shawkah road and RAK Coastal Road.
Building the new Al Jais Mountain Road.
Total registration of vehicles doubles from 47506 in 2004 to touch 98701 in 2008.
Driving licenses issued climbed from 8525 in 2004 to reach 22177 in 2008.
